The Weston County Museum District was the first museum district formed in the state of Wyoming. Its creation is the result of the citizens of Weston County’s pride in their rich history and heritage and the need to preserve both as we move into the future. Our museum district is governed by an elected board of directors and maintained by a district director who oversees both the Anna Miller Museum in Newcastle and the Red Onion Museum in Upton. Both museums in our district offer unique settings in which our county’s past can be studied and enjoyed. The Anna Miller Museum is housed in:

historic cavalry stable building, that was built by hand, from hand carved sandstone. The Red Onion Museum is located at 729 Birch Street in Upton, Wyoming. The Weston County Museum District welcomes you to visit one, or both of our museums, when traveling to our area. We know that we have some of the most unique and exciting history in the state of Wyoming right here along the Wyoming – South Dakota border. We also believe that we are two of the locations in a list of Wyoming’s must-see museums…
